Should do more

It's confirmed that he'll star in the Tarantino film. That's great! I always get excited when I hear he has a new movie on the way.

I will let you in on a little secret here..the reason he doesn't do more movies is two fold
1) He has not much range...he doesn't take risks in terms of choosing roles probably because a star at his level must have a clear idea of his limitations and positives.So you cant expect him to take a role like the one in big short played by christian bale or his role in fighter and absolutely bomb playing it.
2) He is a cash cow of prestige pictures...if there is one thing academy/studios love more than prestige oscar pictures is prestige oscar pictures that make money..so he cant afford loosing his fanbase by working with a director like ridley scott or michael mann..since both of them or hit and miss..

The very fact that you bring up scorsese and Tarantino as his next directors shows that you believe his best work is with them...heck even John travolta and Jonah hill had their best works with those directors....its not the actors that were great..its those directors that make them great...so he on his own cant elevate a material...the material and filmmakers needs to be great so he can ride on their coat tails
