Really never watches his own movies...?

He's said for years that he doesn't watch his own movies and attends premieres but leaves before the movie starts. But he has a room in his mansion dedicated to props and memoribilia from his movies and framed screencaps from his movies. Not photos, screencaps. Seems weird that he'd have pics from his movies framed and hung on his walls but not have seen the scenes themselves. What seems more likely to me is that he watches his movies, but in alone in private. I think he just gets super awkward watching himself infront of others.

Where are you seeing these pictures? I'm really curious.

But to answer, he may just really appreciate the design work, visuals, and aesthetic of those particular films. Or they may conjure really positive memories of really positive professional and personal experiences.

There're lots of possible reasons for this. I don't think it does much to undermine his assertion that he can't watch himself. I think more normal people than we realise would feel like he does. I mean virtually every one I know hates how they sound on an answering machine. Imagine how much worse seeing yourself on film would be? Doesn't mean it's not a cool looking film that you're proud to have been a part of. Maybe they're really awesome pictures independent on his involvement in the film itself.

Strangely, Michael J Fox, who shares his birthday with Johnny, claims he doesn't know if his kids have ever seen Back To The Future!

Sorry, but I just can't believe that one. I think he may have been committing "False Modesty" there!

Actually that is fairly common to hear actors say they never watch themselves on screen.
