Way too emotional in Homeland

Homeland is a great show, top notch. But her character is so f**ing emotional, it looks like she's about to cry in every scene. Just had to get that off my chest.

Anyone else agree?

It effects everyone at different levels and also some people respond to therapy or medications better than others

I've seen many that are very much like her portrayal on Homeland and others who aren't. Some are more strongly effected and others to a much lesser degree.

I find her portrayal to be accurate for someone that tried to avoid their meds as often as possible and spent most of their life avoiding the issue instead of learning how to cope with it by actually getting therapy.

A huge portion of bipolar issues can be dealt with by learning how to avoid stress triggers. It also helps a lot to find which meds work best for you and stay on them. It can take years for some of the meds to fully integrate their way into brain chemistry for any kind of long term effect

The character spent most of her life in denial, not getting help and often losing access to her meds. Shes just now facing the reality that she should have been learning how to cope with these issues decades sooner.

I'm sure she is faithfully portraying the character, but it was too much for me. I checked out after the first season.
