Sad he's passed, and he sure did a lot for film appreciation and preservation. BUT, perhaps now with his sour memories of Marilyn (via Billy Wilder and George Cukor) gone with him to that big movie set in the sky, TCM will treat Monroe a bit more respectfully. Unless one is going to introduce every Judy Garland or Spencer Tracy, etc, film with tales of their abuses and issues, let's try to focus on Marilyn's work. Work that she suffered tremendously over.

I agree, Denis. I was saddened when I heard the news but could not help but think how he downplayed Marilyn's talent and mentioned what a problem she was every time he spoke of her. It was very irritating.
