My apologies to Ghostbusters...

I added to the anti-hype and made fun of the movie last summer without seeing it, just based on the terrible trailers and some word of mouth...

But...sometimes with comedies especially some people don't get it and if a comedy is funny I end up liking it. So...I liked Ghostbusters quite a bit actually and have to officially apologize for trashing it lol

The trailer was absolutely horrible, and the CGI in the film was not very good, but other than that the film was funnier than I thought. It seemed to be not written like Feigs other films and was definitely funnier with better characters so I ended up liking it. Basically a bad/OK Ghostbusters is still a movie I like a lot and the film did not deserve so much backlash after I finally saw it.

It is nothing compared to the original, but it wasn't TERRIBLE and I actually did like it a lot but one must realize it just cannot be compared to the originals and to dismiss the terrible trailer which added in all the stupid aspects of this remake into only about 90 seconds which ...was pretty glaring in 90 seconds. Once you actually watch the film it was actually pretty decent, funny, and the CGI isn't as glaring and it holds together. Terrible trailer, decent movie.

Paul Feig I forgive you for the film, but not for the trailer. (The trailer made it seem like every other kindof stupid Paul Feig movie, wheras it was actually a bit different.)

I agree with you. If you can watch it watch it thinking about the originals. I think it would have been better though if it was somehow linked to them tough.

Still it gave me a few good laughs and and I enjoyed it.

As long as, you know, you agree that people have a solid RIGHT to think and judge of the movie in comparison to the originals. You don't get to just say it's a remake and then flick aside the opinions of the older fans like Paul Feig and crew thought they could do.

in fairness Paul Feig like all directors have nothing to do with movie trailers.

Very few films stand up to their originals, they took this in a slightly new direction, based most of it on the cartoons and comic books and wanted to have a lot of fun. I liked it but it wasn't the movie i wanted.

The movie really wasn't that bad. There are some real genuine laughs. However, there are also some jokes that didn't work at all. You could tell they were improvised ones, and they just didn't land.

Also, the Kate McKinnon character was too over-the-top for me. She went to level 11/10.
I'm not sure what the future holds for the franchise. Last I heard, it didn't make enough money back, so either there's going to be another reboot, or no more Ghostbusters films.
