Not quite... I don't think it will be winning a single Oscar for anything important, as...its just lucky to even be nominated. It was kindof slow and boring, and the writing was not the greatest and the casting was not the most believable as well as problems with the directing overall. Basically an over-hyped film trying to fill the niche of the "African American" film for the year. It was OK, thats about. Ali should get he Oscar..and...thats it. Probably wins nothing else.
Not really. Its a bad sign if its taken 20 years just to make a 2nd or 3rd season. Honestly the first one was sortof convoluted and was going all over the place by the last 2 or 3 episodes...
I liked it but no...I have extremely low expectations on this and I think I read that Lynch wouldn't even be directing it because something about the network wanting to take too much control so it might be some generic poorly done spinoff type thing rather than some great lynchian work. So..don't get your hopes up.
Yep, I finally saw the film, and can confirm it was not even that good. It was OK but I wouldn't even consider it Oscar even if there were no allegations. and with the allegations..and the fact that he invented an entire rape scene in the film against Nate Turners wife which never actually happened..when he himself was a rapist in real life and got away with it...is just super creepy and also poor filmmaking when you add in bs that didn't happen in a supposedly historical film. They also killed white children and even babies in the uprising and yet none of that is shown...again "blackwashing" what actually happened in favor of producing some kind of positive "image" of the man...instead of the truth. Not a great film and the director is an even worse human being who just does not get it and probably never will. He needs to face this punishment as that is the only way some people learn. (many inmates and other rapists for example.) I hope he never directs again.
For me I like this one the best so far and this is the one I will be using on a daily basis for now. 2nd would be TMDB I think with the colorful format but it also felt weird and didn't have many posts...I like how this one is...exactly like IMDB lol...I hope it does the best and ...upsets them. This one will do the best I feel.
Agreed, add specific movie and actor pages and it will be even better. I also like how it looks almost exactly like IMDB lol...even better. If they are too stupid to run a proper message board, then someone else thankfully will.
Actually I finally saw it and I liked it. I wouldn't say it "bombed" but not, it not do very well. It did make like 180 million or something but on a bloated budget so maybe they spent 200 or more on advertising so it probably lost them a little bit of money. But with related junk they will sell tied in into the film which I don't even know how many millions they might get from that, it probably...about breaks even.
It was actually a decent movie just with a terrible trailer that made it look horrible. I liked it a lot. I am not crazy about Paul Feigs other films as they are a bit too silly, they are just OK and the trailer made the film look just like those films whereas...it was actually different I believe had a different writer, was funnier, and had some tension which the ghostbusters films need. I would call it pretty bad comparing it to the original, but...on its own, it was actually a good film and even an OK/sortof bad in CGI ghostbusters was still enjoyable for me.
