Would have been WAY better if the marines didn't evacuate ship immediate

Could have had some "Aliens" esque types of scenes with some bands of marines fighting the escaped xenomorphs around the giant ship

but nope. They have them all jettison off ship immediately and leave us with a bunch of unlikable mercenaries and a few random other fellows.

I guess you could say that about a lot of things in this film, that they could have done differently to ultimately change it dramatically, but it just blows my mind that the film takes place on a big private military ship which would lend itself SO well to some Colonial Marines type of stuff and they just throw that all out the window

she fell through a hole, and was never seen again

The film is a great example of wasted potential. It had no clear focus on creating a coherent narrative. It awkwardly strung set pieces (some memorable, others cringeworthy) together for 2 hours.

Yeah, we have a bunch of armed soldiers to contain and fight any threat that breaks out what happens when that threat does happen? They immediately send them off the ship. WTF?

Aye, that was odd for sure. It’s as if the soldiers knew that there was no way they could win against the Alien. The problem is, there’s no way they could know that if we go by the movies-only timeline.
