Criminals are sometimes if not always FOOLISH to do bad things and then say get arrested or eliminated in some cases.

What if they were to just relax and ENJOY life in all its theoretically pleasant GLORY with the likes of MOVIES and MUSIC and COMPUTER GAMES, rich items, books, travelling, people etc.

Now, no matter how many (and I have seen and admired a LOT, mind you) crime movies I have seen, with certain criminals often speculating about "not getting caught" (notice how IMPORTANT the law is overall as a SYSTEM, but not a universally beloved or even by crooks understandable FORCE, and I don't just mean total nuts of some or other variety - as existent as THEY ARE though), and even how much I enjoy them, even THERE I couldn't help but wonder... Oh, if this guy (and sometimes, and even an attractive to boot, female chick was present - Bonnie & Clyde, Basic Instinct, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, To Die For, Thursday, Der Fan, Play Misty For Me and tons of others) did THIS instead of THAT, even in the name of POWER or even if he didn't KNOW something was terrible and wrong (no excuse of course, but besides point) and say he channelled his aggression into playing a VIDEO GAME INSTEAD, and if they are not short of MONEY...

Well? WELL? WEEEELLLLL????!!!!

Or am I undermining the human condition here WAY TOO MUCH with such thoughts?

Heck, look at Hannibal Lecter, and even after he spent DECADES in that confined cell... Yeah, he still escaped, but also, when he DID, it turned out he had MILLIONS in secret bank accounts, yeah, so much for him being a prisoner and all that... Did anyone care that much by the way and get offended when he DID escape in "Silence of the Lambs" (1991) and calmly or angrily, did it ruin the movie for you? And other characters escaping justice in other movies... OK to each their own, including FEELINGS and STANCES.

But anyways, besides morality and all that, and given our very technological day and age that we CAN admire too and enjoy life's beautiful modern gadgets and stuff, isn't it also foolish of people to turn to criminal dark sides and thus flush away THEIR lives TOO?

One rule of thumb you gotta understand is that most criminals are stupid and lazy.

Why work for what you want when you can just steal it and get it instantly? The thing is, there's a reason most criminals get caught. They aren't smart enough to take into account what people do to protect their homes, and are either not savvy at all when it comes to how the law and security works, or they are too high to really care.

The smarter criminals are the more worrisome ones, because they learn how things work, and get caught less often. But, they still screw up from time to time and end up in the clink.

Some of the scariest and more dangerous criminals are also not very common. We're talking gang leaders, crime lords, and terrorist leaders. They often either die, or are never found and apprehended due to constantly evading the authorities, or even being secretly aided by some authority or other.

But the worst criminals in the world, strangely enough, are the most terrifying because they own the Judicial System, and have never had to deal with the law coming down on them...ever. Doesn't matter if they have lied, cheated, stolen, raped, or even betrayed their countries. I think you would recognize them on TV, dressed in suits, campaigning for election, working to run their countries into the ground while they secretly get rich off of it. Just some food for thought.

Well, yeah, that too. :)

Also, isn't laziness RELATIVE? I mean, it may take GUTS to actually BECOME a criminal, and if you get suspected or caught and you are on the run, it may mean you will spend your whole LIFETIME running away from the police, leaving your homeland, your relatives (if you have any, most of us DO), you may even commit more crimes etc.

I wouldn't ever defend criminals or speak of them in a positive light. But they don't seem merely lazy based on all those things.

And yet, again not criticizing anyone or anything, many civilized people would, and rightly so, say that they deserve to get caught and that "if you don't want to be imprisoned, don't do this and that" well, yeah, very basic and non-ground-breaking golden rules, but get THOSE FOLKS to simply see it from that point of view, then again, they don't seem to concerned about morality and law in general, right?
