I never heard that line before but it IS true, the grudge thing in Irish culture is very real.

My Grandparent's brothers were in The Big One in Europe and The Pacific and I never owned a German or Japanese car and I never will because it would have been a family scandal. I owned a French Peugeot 505 STI right after High School but that was the only foreign car I ever bought.
The French WERE allies if ineffective ones so I don't feel too bad about that one purchase. It was a nice little fast car and it's no fault that France fell fast, The WWII German military was pretty awesome.
Some families hold grudges for a hell of a long time and my Irish Family was no different. It was ingrained in us to never trust 'Nips' and 'Krauts.' True stuff.
