Maybe they see so many human bodies suffer through pain and death, and just become numb to being empathetic about anything. Also I hear the whole medical school experience can be quite cutthroat and soul crushing.

Most are actually pretty great people, if you get to know them.

The difficult ones are usually suffering from a mix of burnout, inflated egos, and being fed up with ignorant, self-destructive, or entitled people.

Most I've dealt with are fine.

You just really notice it when you put your life in someone's hands and they think they're all that.

Most people in society are fucked up. A person's profession doesn't magically change who that person is.
