Do you think the Arts should receive Government funding ?

The Australian Government has just announced nearly $300 million in funding for the "Yartz".

I'm in favour of funding the so called high Arts like symphony orchestras and even the Ballet ( although I personally don't like Ballet ). But I draw the line at funding a bunch of no talent bums so they can produce their "improvisational theatre" and their "installations".

Yes. Australia wouldn’t even have a film industry to speak of without government funding. It’s important and has given many great artists a start they may have not had otherwise.

And 300 mill is like loose change for the government.
