Groups of A-holes at the Cinema

In the past at the Cinema, 1 asshole would save spaces for 9 other assholes, usually on Fridays. I remember for the opening weekend of Avatar (blue natives), there were about 3 groups of assholes that night. I really enjoyed how that practice stopped for the longest time.

Are people doing that sillyness again?
Or are people going to the Drive-In instead?

It's been more than a decade since I've gone to a cinema/theater. This is one of the reasons why.

I just watch movies at home. There is no film that I absolutely must see the minute it's released. I can wait a few months for the DVD/Blu-ray to come out.
