SPOILERS -In Jackie Brown (1997), why does Robert De Niro's character...

... shoot and kill Bridget Fonda's?

Seriously, wasn't that going literally a bit too far, even if she annoyed him, why would he, a big tough grown man, lose it so badly as to use a deadly weapon on her like that?

Did he forget for a while that he had a real gun on him and for a moment assume it was a real-looking water pistol or something?

Dude, spoilers in the title???

It's one thing to put a spoiler in a 25 year old movie on the actual board itself. But this is General Discussion. Not cool at all.

Oh sorry, its just that I thought, much like the Twin Peaks series where almost everyone know who killed Laura Palmer and possibly understood why, everyone including here has seen this movie by the mega POPULAR Mr. Tarantino and that that scene is no longer any kind of spoiler for anyone?

You said ALMOST

Regardless, it is a dick move to put a major spoiler in the title of the thread.

He was pissed that she wore falsies.

He could've simply pointed the gun at her or maybe shoot into the air in that case, almost like that John Goodman character in "The Big Lebowski" (1998) did, but OK I guess...

Was his character a psycho in a way in Jackie Brown?
