Discussion for flash Thompson character changes in marvel Spider man movies must been very strange

I am trying to understand these big Hollywood decisions in movies, so they go

'Oh we have this character, but we need to represent all people including minorities to be fair, so how can we change him'

So this character is a white jock bully guy who bully's nerd like Peter parker, but then Peter becomes strong, this all make sense and is contrasting style, also flash is just not intelligent and Peter is, so you have sympathy for flash because his world is limit to high-school, Peter has big future even if not spider man he would be a success type science guy

So time moves on and jock style guy of the 60s is out of date in 2022 world, nerds rule this world, so they know they must change this character of flash to something modern

So they go, oh make him Indian and a small weak annoying guy who no one care about and who look like a streak on back of a toilet bowl

Wtf???

Hollyweird is replacing comic strip redheads with mostly black actors. Redheads are under 1% of the population BUT they are overrepresented in the comics. I'm a dude who likes redheads so I tend to notice my redhead babes who have been replaced. I expect supporting characters to be blackwashed BUT I usually get mad when the main characters get replaced. Flash is #17 on the list and I never thought he was that important.

I only got mad about the NORSE GOD Heimdall, Spider-Man enemy Electro, effing Little Orphan Annie and G.I. Joe team member Rip Cord, an action figure that I actually own. Also, I can understand blackwashing a character with a good actor BUT they blackwashed Rip Cord with a Wayans brother. WTF?

Interesting! I guess it's just the easiest way to make a noticeably different character in small pictures with basically just change the hair into red.

Especially in old style comics where everyone's face and (often idealised) body look roughly the same.
