I can't help it

I'm 🤣 because my next-door neighbor is using a rusty old reel mower to cut his grass right now. This is the neighbor I call Bozo because he doesn't take care of things. Mrs Neighbor (on the other side of me) calls him Messy Marvin. Unless it's his car, he doesn't take care of it.

Two times last summer he used a weed whacker to cut his grass. 🙄 He's killed at least four power mowers over the past three summers. I don't know what he does to them, but they won't start. Well, they'll start once, he mows a couple of rows, they die, and he can't get them started again. He doesn't know how to fix them so he abandons them. Why he doesn't take them in to have them repaired, I don't know. There are at least two mowers hiding in the bushes on the opposite side of his garage. Who knows what else is in there. Well, there's at least one barbecue that's visible when driving down the alley.

It took him two years to clean the leaves and maple-whirlybirds out of his gutters. I think it took getting water in his basement before he even thought about it.

I called it his gutter garden - he had baby maple trees sprouting nearly the entire length of the gutter. Oh, and the downspout came loose from the gutter. I noticed it one day when I came home in the rain and saw water pouring out where the downspout should have been connected. I told him about it and he said, thanks, I'll take care of it. That was last summer and he still hasn't fixed it.

It took him three years to trim the tree branches that were hitting his roof. I guess the noise finally got so loud he couldn't ignore it any longer and last week he finally did it. Now the branches are piled up on this side of his garage. I'm betting they'll still be there this fall.

Yep, he's a real prize. But I'll say this - he provides amusement for our block. 😜
