I was originally going to make a thread listing all Lovecraft-inspired movies and games. Wow, too many to list. Do a google search and see what I mean.
I can vouch for Eternal Darkness (2002) as an excellent game. I plan to watch the play-through on youtube because it's been such a long time.
Which Lovecraft is your favorite and you can recommend?

Lovecraft doesn't seem to translate well to the big screen. It's hard, I think, to tell Lovecraft's stories without Lovecraft's voice; it's a voice that fills the reader with the dread they're reading something forbidden, unknowable, ancient and madness-inducing. How do you convey all this on screen? Carpenter tried with "In The Mouth" but I think ultimately fell short. To fully get the Lovecraft experience one need's to read him in a musty library, or a dark wood study, or someplace where people stumble upon, all the time, works, that, the longer they read, the more the horror inside them grows that they shouldn't. They're tampering, they realize, with something that lurks in those "black seas of infinity" surrounding our "placid island of ignorance" and with each revelation, they fear, another piece of their sanity is lost forever.
