Recently watched Lady SnowBlood.

It was a very well made first on the premise of getting justice, what some would call revenge. The lead actress was incredibly gorgeous and fair skinned. The samurai sword suits her well and quite a lot of blood is shed. It was very original film, and had a lot of creative ideas it's too bad it got whitewashed in that shitty American remake a while back.

Did you know that the "original" movie that you just watched was also inspired by another movie which in turn was inspired by a neo-feminist-Samurai novel ?

reply

Really? What's the original then?

reply

It sounds like the idea was pulled from Snow White and made into what it was.

reply

Snow White? The fucking kids film? LOL! :D

reply

They made Snow White and the Huntsman. Where the huntsman came from, I have no idea.

What was the original?

Not quite true, Lady Snowblood is just the movie adaption of a manga that ran from 1972 to 1973. There's no "original", unless you think all japanese movies with swordfighting are the same and remakes of each other, in which case you could say that's it was "inspired" by Yojimbo and other such movies.
There actually was a Sci-Fi Remake later named "The Princess Blade".

It's a good movie and takes a giant dump on that horrendous Kill Bill Dreck (just like any other original movie that gets ripped off by that untalented hack Tarantino)

I would recommend exploring all the films Meiko Kaji has been in.

"too bad it got whitewashed in that shitty American remake a while back."

What was that remake called?

"What was that remake called?"

Kill Bill. You might have heard of it.
