If you want to kill a site

Just ask http://imdb2.freeforums.net/ admin. He is enforcing his version of rules to abide to, and his moderators are enforcing it. Trolls who are willing to suck his dick are encouraged to post and are promised mod positions. I hope Moviechat moderation doesnt result in similar disaster.

Ugh. That sounds absolutely horrible. But Jim seems trustworthy and just; hopefully his mods will be too, once they're appointed.

(Oh, Autocorrect. It thought "mods" should be "kids", which is an interesting parallel. XD)

That's to harsh

Hmm? What is?

I think it would be impossible for a select group of mods to police the entire boards (if it becomes very active). Mods can be well intentioned, but without relying on user feedback, can give the impression of being dictatorial. I think Moviechat members should have the ability to flag posts they deem offensive or off topic, which will alert the moderator to review the post(s).

When users click on report, do they have to give a reason? Perhaps having a drop down menu will be helpful, since certain trolling is worse than others. For example, instances of abuse should be given higher priority than to off topic posts.

I think it does work that way: users report posts and mods review them, but I'm not sure if mods can do more than that.

And no, last I checked, there isn't a place to list a reason for reporting, but I agree that it would be a good idea.

I agree

(I refuse to quote your trashy words)

And you want to be a moderator? How would you accomplish being one with your propensity to use lewd language in your posts? Hmmm?
