Remake

I don't know about you guys but I think it's about time to remake the wizard of oz but do it right the the book because the book was really great .

reply

If it's done.,it better be done right

reply

That's why I feel the hystericalh should ask Peter Jackson

reply

Peter Jackson would be excellent! It'd be hard to remake with all the PC flying though, don't you think?

reply

Yes it would be but I still think it could be great

reply

It was a must-see when I was little since it was on just once yearly. I think it was just about the only time, besides Christmas eve, when my parents could have us in one place not fighting. Not literally fighting..more like squabbling most of the time. The Scarecrow reminded me of my Beloved grandfather.

reply

I feel like the original didn't do the book justice but I think it could be really well made now I wouldn't know who should be casted though

reply

Maybe: although I think remakes should be done sparingly.

Even with flaws and datedness, I think some classics should be left alone.

reply

I feel there's a time for them but not 20 years after the original

reply

Well, there is Emerald City. I have no idea how close it is to the books, but it's pretty good. Criminally under-appreciated.

reply

I will look into that

reply

Erm...no thanks! Must we remake everything? Can't we leave 'classics' alone? They should just re-release it in movie theatres for newbies and oldies to enjoy. I'm not saying they couldn't make a great new version, but the likelihood of surpassing the original.....1/100.

UNLESS you mean do a new version without the music. Then yes, I'm all for it because that would be interesting.

reply

It doesn't have to have music
