Rate/Recommend My Top Ten

When I first joined I really wanted to make one of these but was too shy, and then I just forgot about it. Better late than never. Try to give recommendations based on my choices that I might not have seen before, and give me any general thematic thoughts about my list or what it reveals about me as a person.

1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
2. The Godfather
3. The Graduate
4. Citizen Kane
5. The Apartment
6. A Man For All Seasons
7. A Few Good Men
8. Voyage of Time
9. United 93
10. American History X

Honorable mention for Full Metal Jacket since I know a lot of people haven't seen Voyage of Time.

Nice list, I can see where your coming from but none of these would not make my top 500 personally, your welcome to look through my lists on my profile such as http://www.imdb.com/list/ls058963815/

A lot of 6*, 7*, and 8* movies on your list.
#65 and #66, Sister Act and The Matrix, you rate them both 8*/10* ???

reply

All of the list is pretty good accept #9, I did not watch it yet and I can't judge it. As for the #7 a few good man, I recently found it browsing trough https://cinewhale.com/movies/a-few-good-men-1992

If you put aside the pirated content, it is a really awesome index. For some reason IMDB became too heavy to use and the trailers take waay too much to load. Another good alternative for me to find new, or related movies is https://tastedive.com/movies. Anyway, thank you for the list, I will watch Untitled 93 and will get back to you with my thoughts! :)

An interesting list. You start with a bunch of classics then end with American History X. Not that it's not a good film. It's in my top ten, too, but it just doesn't seem to fit with the others. Neither does United 93.

I'm trying to find an overall theme here, but am not able to. Mainly dramas, I guess. You must like drama.

Here's my top ten. Feel free to rate.

1. Zero Effect
2. The Big Lebowski
3. Bulworth
4. Gattaca
5. Wonderboys
6. In Bruges
7. Pleasantville
8. Outside Providence
9, Kicking and Screaming (1995)
10. American History X
