Nostalgia for certain decades. Anyone notice?

I'm an 80s child where I was born in 1980 and was a little kid in the early mid 1980s.

Back then I don't think anyone ever brought up the word nostalgia but growing up back then fir those including me growing up in the 1989s I guess we git hooked on 1950s and 1960s stuff on tv and movies from original House on Haunted Hill, seeing old shows on Nick at Nite like Mr Ed and Leave it to Beaver etc plus Back to the Future having 1950s stuff in it.

The 1990s when I was a teen, it was all about the 1970s I guess with few things like That 70s Show and Dazed and Confused and even VH 1 airing old 1970s music videos

I was born in 1979 and was hooked on music and sitcoms from the 60s and 70s from a young age. However, I've always had kind of an allergic reaction to 50s nostalgia. It always seemed too sanitized and gave me a Valley of the Dolls kind of vibe.

I'm still trying to pitch "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" to all my friends.

There's always been nostalgia with every previous generation. Even when you go back before the dawn of TV, Radio, and film.

In the 70s there was nostalgia for the "innocent" time before the turmoil of the cultural revolution that became the mid-late 1960s with movies like American Graffiti, Lords of Flatbush, The Wanderers, Happy Dayz, and the re-emergence of 50s television with syndication of Leave it to Beaver, Ozzie & Harriet, I Love Lucy and even The Mickey Mouse Club.

I was a teenager in the 80s and there was nostalgia for the 60s as Baby Boomers were entering middle-age and responding to the new era of Pop, Rock and the emergence of Hip Hop and Rap which was very different than the R&B that was reaching maturation points in all demographic markets.
