(SOLVED) Old Air Race Movie.

A long time ago I saw an old black and white 1930s/40s/50s air racing movie. What stuck in my mind is that they had a very slow-looking biplane racing alongside a much faster-looking monoplane. Inevitably there is a crash with the pilot being thrown out of his plane.

Does anyone know the title of this movie?

Any help would be appreciated.

Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines or How I Flew from London to Paris in 25 Hours 11 Minutes

That was made in the 1960's and wasn't in b&w.

Apart from that, nailed it! 😂

Yes you did, lol.

It's been years since I saw TMMITFM. I miss Terry Thomas.

This probably isn't the one but it's worth a try: Hollywood Thrill-Makers (1954)

It's about two movie stuntmen and features some footage of biplanes, including crashes. The entire film is on YouTube. It runs only 57 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVziJ9HMc8E

Seems like The Tarnished Angels (1957) to me. The race is somewhere at 20-25 minute mark.
