Favorite type of non-bird dinosaur?

I like the long neck herbivore ones the most.

ANKYLOSAURUS.

That is a cool one. Wouldn’t want to be close to one, though.

FOR WHATEVER REASON I LOVED THAT ONE BEST AS A KID...I HADA HUGE DINOSAUR PHASE.

I was a dinosaur fiend as a child. I loved Ankylosaurus as well. Of course it had a name, "Pillowhead" I recall, for some damn reason. My model had two points on the sides of its head, not horns.

I loved Stegosaurus too. I liked the unusual ones more than the biped T-Rex and the Brontosaurus types with the long neck and the tail.

Stegosaurus

Speaking of Brontosaurus, have you heard of a fascinating new theory?

The absolute disrespect to Triceratops on this thread.

Sorry....

aren't they all related to birds?

reply

Pterosaurs, Raptors

The ancient crocodilians (archosaurs, not dinosaurs) are brilliant too - major terrestrial predators prior to the age of the dinosaurs.

Raptors are definitely avian dinosaurs. They even had feathers.

reply

Aves and raptors derive, ultimately, from the theropod clade - they are relatively closely related, having many common characteristics, due to synapomorphy (shared characteristics derived from a common ancestor) :

Wow! You know much more about dinosaurs than I do. Thanks for the links. I will definitely check them out and learn something new.

Funkasaurus.

When I was a child my favourite was the Diplodocus.
