Rote learning was how I learned basic math, I hated math and they made us write out multiplication, division, subtraction and addition problems THOUSANDS of times. I hate math but I thank those old school teachers for the repetition. I can do basic Math quite well now owing to them. I'm hopeless with Algebra though and I've never needed it so screw that nonsense...don't go throwing letters in with my numbers, I don't work for NASA!
History/Social Studies, Literature, Writing and Art I really enjoyed learning about and often did a 'deep dive' into related topics and materials the teachers didn't even require. I was really great at those topics, a bit very even, but I was never terrific in Science class even though I liked it a lot.
I think there's a basic lack of leadership here.
It's a kooky system but I choose to stay, I like nearly all of the posters.
