I too wonder about this, the writing was on absorbable toilet paper - the kind they use on boats, in case Lecter had to swallow it quickly, I cannot imagine Barney being so unprofessional to be bought off, it would mean that Barney had been contacted by Dolarhyde and said nothing... Plus in the book it describes Dolarhyde coming up with a simpler idea of how to get a message to Lecter, but for the life of me I cannot think what it is, how would Dolarhyde know which cell Lecter was in?
Imagine being a cleaner on that train, coming into work Monday morning, and finding all these dead men and the bogey completely trashed. I'd be very angry and would definitely want to know who made such a mess, I would want a $50 tip at the very least.

were the creeps that dumped the girl not customers as well? They gave McCall a fare with instructions and he returned the favour by beating the men up, if my Uber driver treated me like that I would definitely give him a negative review.
Did McCall not beat up some of his Uber customers as well? I see a pattern emerging here.
