This is true. I couldn't use my car until yesterday when the temps increased by 15 degrees. The locks on my Challenger have been frozen solid since Sunday. On the bright side, I saved a shit load on gas. You really can't own a car in Chicago if you don't have automatic start. If I left the heat on full blast and started the car I'm sure it would've thawed the ice that formed around the locks.
I would love to build a house from a shipping container off-grid. Only if I wasn't such a city slicker.
Chicago is so cold right now there is literally a graveyard of Teslas. A bunch of dead robots they called it. The below 0 weather sucked all the life out of the batteries and the charging stations aren't doing shit.
