Twin Peaks season 1 and 2, so serene.

I make a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, doesn't take much space and doesn't cost anything after getting the initial red ornament. As an added bonus I get the yearly thrill of a night walk to steal a piece of fir tree from someone's yard.
It's "I Still Believe" by Tim Cappello from the movie The Lost Boys. The song is also played live by Tim in a show that the characters attend. You can find the scene on YouTube.

It's 144 000 who are going to go to Heaven with God. Others will live on Earth for 1000 years until Satan is unleashed one last time to test humanity, fun stuff.
They do not celebrate Christmas either. She might have been reported to the "council" and got in trouble or felt ashamed as someone else said. Everything she did with you goes against their ways, unfortunately.
Edit: I don't think you did anything wrong. The life of a young Jeovah's Witness can be real difficult. A lot are born in it and many end up leaving as they grow up. From all the friends I had when I was a witness as a child/teenager, only a very few stayed once they reached adulthood.
I agree. I really enjoyed the movie but the book is on a whole other level. Jed was the best character in my opinion and as you mentioned, he's not in the movie.
I would love to see Garland's cinematic take of his own literary work.
Always enjoyed seeing him as the alien bounty hunter in The X-Files. He's only there for about 9 episodes but when he shows up you know things are serious. He has such presence!
