I just did some reading up, whether it was or wasn't, there's definitely a creep factor being 31 and dating / marrying a 15/16 year old who is pregnant with your child. I mean, I'm not French, but I'm guessing in France that is also not normal behavior. I didn't get the impression that Leon was into her that way. I got the impression that he was an incredibly good hitman but otherwise had some deficiencies mentally. He didn't do a very good job dissuading her say the way the average adult might when approached with a similar scenario, but that doesn't default to he was going to hook up with her. Yes, Tony was the biggest scumbag in the movie of scumbags. Even Mathilda was a scumbag to an extent. I know we are supposed to like Leon, but he killed people for a living for a mobster. It's just paying homage to the 80s action movies. If looked at in that context, it's great. Oh god I saw him trending on MovieChat and thought he died. Whew! I thought it was because he fixed the auto pilot six months earlier. It didn't seem to lessen his chances with Becca. Maybe I will try it sometime and see if it works for me. Not when she was drunk, because I never was into that. But any other time..... I watched it recently and liked it more than the first time around. The only part I truly disliked was when he was cursing into the phone because of the bad connection. No normal guy would do that knowing that the girl on the other end might hear what he was saying. Great write up. I was confused as well. Whatever the influence was, I don't think I could watch this again. I tried for almost 40 years to get through the whole thing. I finally did, and I realize I did not miss much. Would rather watch Flash. Also, I thought I saw some similarity to the Never Ending Story I got through the first 40 minutes and couldn't figure out what I was watching. Maybe it is too smart for me? This is a good point. Why are we pushed to like these people? Lori didn't respect the extremely unique relationship between John and Ted. It's like Lois Lane watching Clark give up his powers for her in Superman II. You just gotta say no. I thought the movie was just fine. I did not see any wokeness. I think there was a tiny bit of revisionist history which is almost necessary as it is impossible to hold a 200+ year old culture to today's standards, and the movie required us to like the protagonists to work. There were plenty of good white people back then. However, they were most likely not the ones on the African coast engaged in the slave trade. I mean, the movie was just a wrap-around for a couple intense fight scenes. The one towards the middle was by far the best and worth watching the whole flick for. What made you change your mind on how you see the film? Yeah I am digging Serious Seth. Looking forward to Season 4 if possible. I was going to say about the same thing. Seth really took season three in a different direction. I am only halfway through and am quite impressed. Walt Disney was making art, not cartoons. A lot of what he did in that movie had never been done before and certainly not on that scale. I believe it also was subject to significant setbacks and delays.
