That's cool, anyone else? I really don't care about box office data or review aggregates, so I'm bumping my own post, do something! I'm a Drexl man I do love it, it definitely hit and miss, but there's great stuff here and there, any Wes Craven directed episode, George R R Martin written are great, but the remakes are not the ones I love usually, I just love the vibe, same goes for Amazing stories and AHP The 80s twilight zone series did pick several classic eps to reboot and I love it His Twilight Zone the movie segment is great, but it was already great when Shatner did it, and it always bothered me that the best segment of that movie was rehash If not perfect, as close as almost any have come, I love this film, all the hours and hours of it There's also the part where Trump is a major joke and can think of nothing better to sling at someone than projections of his own insecurity Nothing is stopping them, so that means Jensen truly believed in what he was doing, truly believed some people are better than others and deserve immortality, and that everyone else is expendable. Nowhere in there is a guy who cares about a smash and grab. If Damien had behaved, they would've been glad to keep him around, but of course they had contingencies because like you said, clearly others needed taking care of in the past. Or Dominick Brascia, says Corey's mom and his official site Empire of the Sun, Machinist, Prestige, but yes, I've always considered this film the crown jewel of his career She was just wandering in the dark, and we found each other, in the dark... Watching Aaron Henry right now, classic, Affleck is raging so hard right now I agree with you (OP), try Twelve and Holding, L.I.E. and of course Stand by Me So out of character. I actually thought they were building toward killing him, they had made him out to be that dumb that I figured it was the only appropriate comeuppance. Like in the tunnel when Dustin asked Dart if they could pass (most ridiculous thing in the entire series) he could've and would've eaten him and the whole Party I think you can work with and shape your vision as long as you want, it just depends which cuts you like. Since the actual edit of BL is more or less the same, with just aesthetic differences and most notably the voice over, I side with Scott on that film. Lucas did undeniably trash his series and the final Special Editions v the Despecialized is like night and day. I agreed with basically no changes to that original trilogy. Blade Runner I didn't feel was as marred and at least all versions had an official high quality release, so on the rare occasion I do want the voiceover I can crack open my Deckard briefcase and watch theatrical. Does European cut have more violence and keep the VO? I kind of like the unicorn thing too and that's not in the theatrical, and that's pretty much where all of my suspicians of Deckard's replicant status originate. I mostly loved it, so I'll start with the couple issues I had. WTF Dustin! One of the most rational and intelligent (though yes silly) members of the Party in season 1, he comes across as a complete buffoon keeping D'Art and lying to everyone else, and would have more realistically resulted in his immediate death or the deaths of everybody and maybe the end of the world. That is not even close to understandable or forgivable. Being a survivor of the first season, he knows the stakes. Only because that kid is so charming does the character make it through without being morally bankrupt. Almost totally lost it for me there. Also Billy was a bit of a cliche but it was nice to have a human enemy. My major issue here was after establishing that things you say when you're effed-up you may not remember and /or may or may not be a true reflection of your true feelings and are unreliable at best (with Nancy boozed at party) but then we're supposed to believe that after being stabbed in the neck with some downer that Billy's gonna keep his promise to leave Max alone? That's not how abuse works, nor downers, nor brains and memory But mostly it was great, wish there was more on The Mind Flayer but I suppose we'll get more next time on that For me it's about the voiceover, some voiceover I love, like Barry Lyndon, Little Children, Querelle, even American Beauty and especially Terrence Mallick' s films. The voiceover in (if I recall correctly) the theatrical Blade Runner always struck me as stilted and offputting. I've always felt it took something away from the visuals, and while I agree some of the filters in the final cut are undesireable, I prefer all versions that lack the voiceover for this film in particular.
