Agreed. The guy is awful. We should set up a Kickstarter page dedicated to raising an early retirement fund for him just so we'll never have to see his pathetic attempts at "comedy" ever again. Agreed. It's a masterpiece. No other movie has captured the essence of young love during adolescence any better. Style isn't everything. Tell your chef I want whatever he dares to serve me! Tell him to hit me with his best SHOT! Although it's probably not ideal for eating after what it's been subjected to, the cavier factory scene in The World Is Not Enough always gives me a craving. I just wouldn't eat the batch Robbie Coltrane fell into. It made me consider giving vegetables a try. Check out this clip of Arnold in Brazil. He's gotta be the most charming, lovable sleazeball on the planet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uerFZ2Z42nc Who needs Hungry-Man when you can eat that instead? Yeah, I thought Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac was pretty good. It just needed more sex. They should've hired Michael Haneke to do it. Watch the movie again. That's true. I find it to be a common trend of many indie art films these days to show as much gratuitous sex as possible. I certainly don't have a problem seeing it, but I often find it artistically disingenuous of the filmmakers. In something like Blue Is the Warmest Colour, I tend to find myself wondering whether if the explicit sex is being used to get the point across, or is the director just looking for an excuse to indulge in his fantasies. Like I said, I don't mind watching it, I just find it artistically disingenuous. On the opposite end, I'd say Basic Instinct is a good example of explicit sex being used to drive home a narrative. Sure, Buzz can pop more than just his wings at the end. Why don't you set yourself an appointment with an optometrist? I can refer you to someone if you'd like. Here's a separate category for animated films: Sleeping Beauty Pocahontas Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Kubo and the Two Strings Fantasia 2000 The Lion King The Tale of Princess Kaguya Loving Vincent Finding Nemo The LEGO Movie Good call there, separating movies that are visually beautiful from movies that are emotionally beautiful. Here's my list of emotionally beautiful movies: Robin and Marian (1976) Edward Scissorhands (1990) Rocky (1976) Peter Pan (2003) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) Malena (2000) 2046 (2004) Shakespeare in Love (1998) Spider-Man 2 (2004) Some runner-ups that almost made my list include Russian Ark, Saving Private Ryan, Watchmen, The Godfather: Part II, and The NeverEnding Story. I think S. Craig Zahler could probably do a bang up job as well. Maybe even Matthew Vaughn. Thank fucking Lord that hack is leaving this project. I can't imagine how bland, safe, and politically correct he would've turned the supposed "satire" into. Now all we've got to do is send a truck full of cash to Paul Verhoeven's house, and get his ass in the director's chair once again.
