There's a veronica mars reddit if you're still looking. The acting is fine. The script is great, and the story is engrossing and mysterious. It's not as polished as shows with higher budgets, but if you like post-apocalyptic science-fiction, with some dark humor, this show delivers. There is a season 2, and if IIRC, things get resolved to some extent. I think it's insane that you're spending this much time debating plot points of a movie you didn't like. Why? They're aliens. We're not told what their armor is made of, or even if those were the only type of alien creature. If you're accepting that aliens land on the planet it's not a huge leap to accept that their armor could be virtually indestructible. Again they're fricking aliens from space that landed on earth via meteors iirc. Even that would suggest that their armor would be incredibly durable considering the speed and heat generated when entering earth atmosphere. Yeah it's a dumb trope. It doesn't even have to a virus or bacteria. Just some fine particulate in the air that after you breathe it for long enough destroys your lungs. Yeah that sounds great if dynamite and nails would be sufficient to penetrate their armor. There's just not enough info to say it's faulty logic. Obviously the lack of info is purposeful. It helps keep costs contained and saves the people making the movie the time and headaches of coming up with a more detailed world. Fair point, and I don't recall. I assumed it was, and I would think that if it wasn't it would have been mentioned by one of the characters. They were breathing the air (I think). I paused when they show. There was not dozens. You're either trolling (most likely) or seeing things. Reply if you must but you're on ignore so have fun. I'm in agreement with all of this. The only saving grace is if in the sequel (which seems to be in the works) it's revealed that the creatures were just one aspect of it and they weren't responsible (or just a small part of) the dire straits that humanity (and any other noise making animal) appeared to be in. I re-watched the last scene to check. You're wrong kid. I quit the show after the 1st episode, but the universe is unfathomably huge. If we're accepting that traveling to worlds outside our galaxy is possible, then traveling trillions of light years doesn't seem like much of a stretch, depending on how they are achieving faster than light speeds. I used logic and evidence to show that he didn't have a point. It wasn't a perfect show. There are valid criticisms of it, but being too politically correct is not one of them. As to a hallmark feel ... LOL I don't think there was far more than 3. When the wife is looking at the monitors at the end we see 2 on one monitor and then 2 show up on another monitor (I think it was the same 2 just moving closer to the house). So the audience is shown anywhere from 3 (if same 2 on both monitors) to 5 (if different 2). Obviously there could be more that aren't shown. B/c trial and error doesn't work if you're dead after the first trial. Setting traps would have been a good idea as a defense to give them time if a noise brought them to the house. It's weird they didn't do something like that; however it's possible that making those traps would have been too noisy to make it feasible to use traps as an offensive strategy since they didn't know how to kill them even if trapped. There wasn't dozens in the last scene. We saw 2 scurrying across the field on one monitor and then another monitor showed 2 more, although it's likely that those were the same 2 we saw initially and they were just caught by the other monitor as they moved towards the house. No actually. All of you lost. Both sides, although the guy who talked about the liberal agenda was the biggest loser. That kind of stupidity is unfortunate and sad. Yeah, but what evidence did they have of him being part of it. There were a couple illegal interrogations that the dirty cops wouldn't have recorded and a bunch of dead accomplices. I'm sure he left town quickly b/c he knew their (dirty cops) power is significantly reduced outside LA. They could try to set him up or kill him if he's in town but that's difficult otherwise and they still got the bad guys. Why would dirty cops ruin a huge win with the truth? Spoilers below Yeah I had a problem with that part of it too. The end of the movie kind of made it less of an issue, but it was still problematic. The director needed to hide the reveal, and that made it necessary for Merrimen to act out of character and accept what was obviously bs from the driver. It's weird b/c that scene (in the restaurant) was superfluous too. They had the shooting range scene and the sleeping with merrimen's gf scene to show they were knew who each other were.
