I think he's human but messed up by BMOL early years training and teachings. It's a scary fact that humans can be brainwashed easily and effectively. Just looked at the crazy wars going on around the world. We're not born to hate, we're taught. I personally am weary of the BMOL. It's been proven they're not particularly smart. And wiping out all monsters in the UK is no big deal - have you seen the size of the UK? And, anyway, I don't think they have. You can't kill ALL monsters. There's never any guarantee. Every horror movie ends with a monster egg about to hatch or whatever. So I'm ready for the BMOL to be gone. The whole concept was a fail IMO. And Mary and Sam eagerly joining up without investigation or thought is more irritating than anything else. It could have been a great idea had the BMOL made sense - but this "wipe out everything bad" notion just didn't work - plus it's not the British way. I'm a former Brit. We just ain't like that. We're nice. Anyhoo - I think Ketch is human. I like the actor. I liked the actor playing Mick. They both got a raw deal in terms of writing. Although I did like the 'gray' areas of their characters that the writers attempted to introduce in the latter part of the season. Flat black/white characters (such as Lady Twatface) just don't work on TV any more. Apparently Hubb (or whoever it is that is putting on this Oz Con) will make a DVD available for sale. Photos and recordings after the first 5 minutes are strictly banned. You must buy the DVD. The panels looked like fun and Jensen sang quite a bit at yesterday's concert. I'm hoping we get notice when this DVD is for sale. A side note - someone videoed the photo sessions - wow the fans get less than a second to pose with our boys before it's onto the next. Another fan tweeted the Js had been doing photo ops for 3 hours without a break. I don't think we'll be busy over the summer hiatus. But once season 13 starts, I think this site will become quite active. Hope so, anyway. :) Maybe the series has been on for too long. We KNOW Sam and Dean cannot die - I remember literally bawling my eyes out when Sam died and Dean gave that heart-wrenching soliloquy over his body. If that same scene happened today, I'd probably not be anywhere near as upset as I'd know something would happen to bring Sam back. So I’d ask about the challenges of writing for a 12 year old show with a rabid and knowledgeable fanbase and keeping it all fresh. Sam and Dean can never die. Cas and Crowley must continually be de-powered from their first appearances otherwise any trepidation just goes out the window. I’d also express some dismay that the show has lost its heart and soul along the way. People die but we feel nothing because we never got to know the person. Mom returns but is cool and distant. Not one single brotherly hug this season, even when Sam learned his brother hadn't died from the bomb. I wish they’d invite some of the writers and Andrew to a Creation panel. However, maybe not a good idea. Bob Singer was in over his head during his panel. He often appeared lost going off on tangents, eventually saying “it’s only a show” when questions got too hard. When the Js came on stage afterwards Jensen grinned asking Bob ‘were they nice to you?’ I'd ask if there's actually a writing room? I had to laugh that they gave these guys two little armchairs and a coffee table. What were they thinking? I'm surprised the coffee table survived. :) Honestly, the best part was the way Dean gripped that wine glass. It was so.... Dean. And the red murder shirt is back. 😝 My nitpick with Australian cons is that photos and recording of panels is not allowed. You must purchase a DVD - from where, I don't know. I think their rules are too rigid. Creation and JIB cons are fun because ALL fans can live the Con experience as it's happening through tweets and YouTube. JIB is the best of the bunch as they pair the Js with Misha. Jensen and Misha are ad lib comedy gold together. I sometimes think the J2 panels are more entertaining than the damn show. :( So it will be a radio silent weekend, unless some fans sneak their phones. 1.75 and 0.7 Think positive, people!! Spot on, indeed. I've tweeted the link to Andrew. Hope he reads. Two many plots going nowhere and S&D watching from the sidelines... that's season 12. And, as usual, the comments section is quickly waylaid by rampaging Destiel fans. The author makes really good points about Cas' journey since he joined TFW but they just don't listen. reset of Bobby coming out of the shower, where he had been dead for a year, and the entire previous season being a bad dream of his wife's. It could work. Dean was tired after saving the sun, fell asleep in that fake garden, and dreamed it all - Mary, BMOL, devil baby. 😵 Anyone seen the video of the Js on their jet skis. These guys like speed. But Jensen had better not mess up that perfect face.... TPTB must be aware of the discontent in the fandom. And it's not that I'm only pointing fingers at the folks behind Supernatural - several other shows I follow have gone downhill lately too. Rehashing plots, forgetting or disregarding canon, characters doing OOC things, etc., it's all over network TV these days (IMO). Maybe there's just too much TV, too many offerings, too many series... we've seen it all and become jaded and worn down by the same thing over and over again. Even reality shows have become procedural - from House Hunters to Survivor. Maybe a writers' strike could have been a good thing. Given them a chance to recharge batteries and rejuvenate imaginations (or even watch old episodes so they have some idea of character and canon). Agree with others. A couple of nitpicks. Pacing - never before have I picked up my iPad and played a game during the live broadcast. I do this a lot now. No matter how limp the plot in earlier seasons, the episode usually skipped at a brisk pace taking us along with it. Sam and Dean always in the thick of things, not being - you know - stupid. The brothers in the dark - Not a smart way to plot a show when audiences have the facts and the main protagonists don't. Sam and Dean had no trouble finding jobs before. Now the Brits find jobs for them and off they go like well trained little puppies. So irritating and OOC that S&D accept the BMOL at face value.... like, why? The Baby I cannot bring myself to care. Good baby or Bad baby - if they take this SL over to season 13... well, the season is doomed. I'm thinking maybe S13 should be all MOTW. The arcs have been terrible for 2 seasons. Can't write more as I'm depressing myself. the Winchesters’ feelings are just glossed over and never explored, and yet that’s what I really want to see. That’s what I care most about with this Show, so if I don’t know what they’re feeling, I’m lost. I agree with this. Not that I want soap opera, but come on! - a lot has happened and we have no clue how they feel. Sam & Dean are the heart and soul of this series. They were once, anyway - I don't think they are any more. Yes, Lynne is part of what I call the squee squad (Australian ladies too). They just LOVE everything! So I'm surprised she authored this. Maybe our disenchantment will get through to TPTB. Someone made the point over at P.TV that the episode would still have unfolded the way it did even if Sam & Dean had slept in and not been part of any of it. I'll have to go back and re-watch to see if this is actually true, but it was my reaction too. Dean was grumpy and fixed the car, Sam figured the baby would be born during May sweeps and came up with some nonsense about sucking out grace. Other than that, what did they do to drive the plot or affect anything that happened? Let's face it, the show is dying. We may even get an 0.4 before the finale. I think Dabb has been given the task of finding a spin off and he's devoting all his time to that. Giving Sam and Dean something to do is the last thing on his mind. It's essentially pointless to take anything they have to say about it seriously when we know more than they do. The show has never been written like this, so it's confusing, and a complete tonal shift that is highly unpleasant as a viewer to watch. You've absolutely hit the nail on the head, Clueless!! THIS is what's so frustrating this season. THIS is why I've been yelling at my TV screen so much lately. Who wants to watch a gullible Sam & Dean being taken for a ride? It's just exasperating. :( Mary is only JUST having doubts..... ? They're throwing a whole lot of spinoff spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks I'm thinking. I love this show to bits. But if they're just going to retread old plots and write flat uninspired characters doing stupid things to shock and awe or advance the story then it's time for it to end. It's a shame because a supernatural show should be able to go on forever. Anything can happen in the world of Sam & Dean. There are no confines. The Walking Dead has confines, so did Vampire Diaries, etc. One show is dying, the other is dead. But two good looking, street smart, blue collar, intrepid monster hunters with a truckload of emotional baggage - well, their adventures should be able to go on forever. It's a crime what has happened to this show. I always wanted it to go out with a bang (from Dean's grenade launcher perhaps) but it now seems likely this once great show will fade into a dying sunset with 0.2 or less ratings. None of the actors or awesome crew need hang their heads. But TPTB and writers should be tarred and feathered!! Getting off soapbox now and going for a much needed morning coffee. :( Characterization has gone out the window with this bunch of writers. Everyone's a flat stereotype - no one's got onion layers anymore (I'm surprised they didn't give Dagon a moustache to twirl). Tossing the keys onto the front seat next to a flight risk.... duh! cheap lazy writing. It's not just Supernatural that's slipping in ratings. It's across the board. Network TV has settled lazily into the doldrums while streaming venues such as Netflix are stealing audiences because they're offering something new and fresh. A paradigm shift is taking place in the world of broadcast TV entertainment. I tweeted the article to Dabb... several times, in fact. (He probably has me blocked)
