I think Nev went looking for someone to Catfish him. He had the concept and needed someone to "catfish" him to execute it. One thing that really stands out is she let herself be interviewed at the end. These people do not like to be exposed on camera. They don't give explanations. If you look at Tallhotblonde documentary. The woman would not allow herself to be on camera. It's a blend of real/fake. I think it really just showed that while Martin got his revenge. Did it make him happy and satisfied? No, he was still alone. His Dad was still dead. The Murphy's survived it and were still a family. And Martin was left behind in the dark. What he wanted was a family and he will never have that. And Kim looking at him wasn't subtly sexual. She was showing she was stronger than him and will go on and live her life. Thank God her character was so annoying. I think she fancied herself as a young Smurf. But her jealousy got the best of her and you can't play both sides and win for long. I thought the dirty detective got rid of any evidence so they had nothing to hold her on. At least the show addressed that after a few years and started offering therapy. Though you see a lot of them avoid it and don't go to appointments. I think big part of the mental disorder is to infantilize themselves so they can't walk and need 24 hour caretakers. A big example was Sean his mother fed him to 1,000 lbs. Then she dies at 57 (she looked 70 on the show) of renal failure leaving him with no way to take care of himself emotionally or financially. His food addiction was too hard to break and he failed when he was on his own. Even his Father wouldn't help him. Sadly Sean died this past February his body couldn't take it anymore. That's why so many keep failing. They live with enablers who don't want to change their own behaviors or do things to trip up the person trying to lose weight. Dr. Now does call them out on it. But his responsibility is to focus on his patient in front of him. Update Sean died February 2019 You mean women who want to be treated equally and fairly in the home and workplace. And not be subject to harassment, intimidation and subjugation. This post says more about your fear of women than anything else. I think what she wanted was a return to domesticity and thought she would be part of it as a leader. Not knowing when she opened that door what was really going to happen to women. How men would take it and pervert it and the bible for their own dark needs. She was slowly being edged out of things. While Waterford cooed and soothed her. He knew what was going to happen and her rights would all be taken away. Fred is the real evil one. https://the-handmaids-tale.fandom.com/wiki/Martha Marthas serve as servants, and housekeepers. They clean the houses, go shopping, and cook and serve meals for the high-ranking family they've been assigned to. Most Marthas seem to be infertile, low-ranking, and unmarried women. It is also implied that most Marthas are ethnic minorities, such as Latina, or African-American, displaying Gilead's further discrimination against women who belong to minority groups; in the television series, one of the featured Marthas, Rita, is herself played by a woman of color. Marthas are sometimes assisted in their tasks by their household's Handmaid. They provide food for the Handmaids as well. Marthas often gossip amongst each other, and are usually quite friendly with each other. It is even implied that they have a communication network of their own. They can be somewhat prejudiced, and derogatory, towards Handmaids, though. If the Wife they serve has children, then Marthas may help in the rearing, acting as a nanny. Many Marthas look forward to this, because, among other reasons, it may be the only chance they will have to raise a child as if it were their own. It is implied by Offred that if a Martha lives past her "prime", she is sent to The Colonies, where she is ensured certain death. Basically sterile women, Marthas and Jezebels get sent to the colonies when they are no longer useful or old. Men take no value in women they are inferior and death is their future. that IS from the book It's not about that, it's about power, when Men get into power and they want more of it and won't give it up. The poster isn't suggesting Handmaids and Marthas "can" marry each other. We know in this society that is outlawed. The are asking what happens to them later in life. If a Handmaid cannot produce a child with a Commander after 3 assignments. She is deemed sterile and sent to the colonies. If a Handmaid can bear children she is never sent to the colonies or deemed an "unwoman" she basically gets a place of honor in the society even after child bearing years. I am up to episode 7, and I like how they have handled the witch problem and a taboo love interest for Uhtred. But really this season is about love and lost not romance. It seems to be the most emotional season yet. I agree that was some over the top melodrama from Doug, totally out of line for his character. Plus there was no line that showed Claire knew he had done it. They just jumped to it to tie it up in a bad bow. haha that's funny, I thought the goat god looked familiar I couldn't place where I saw it from first. Just be glad she didn't end up as Betty Cooper she was almost cast in that role and the actor that plays Ambrose was almost Jughead. It's only 8 episodes and clearly has been thrown together from whatever ashes of ideas for the original season 6 was going to be. Robin does a good job of carrying it. But without Francis it just feels empty. What's sad is this show came in roaring and goes out with a mew. But all blame lies on Kevin Spacey and how he treated people. If he had more respect the series could have ended on such a high note. You never get to see Francis comeuppance he's just a ghost now.
