Unfortunately the horror section here is pretty dead like most of the other sections here. There is just too many other boards and facebook groups spread. I always grow tired of these fb groups after some weeks, you just can't get a decent discussion there. And most movie boards are similar to one another. It's handy to have movie database and community with different sections all in one but of course if people mostly post in general and 70% isn't really movie related I can understand it continues to be hard to get life in the other sections. Strange that ex-imdb posters didn't massively come over to this site. I guess imdb2 was just so fast that most of them ended up there in the first place. Don't know how active it still is now, haven't checked in ages and my account got disabled there anyway because I promoted some other sites. Too many to name but if I had to go with one possibly that actress that got famous due to Friends TV show, what's her name again, she was voted as most beautiful some years ago. Oh Jennifer Anniston is her name. Nope I don't see what the big deal is about her. Marlon who? Vincent Price for me, his movies even the lesser ones are all very watchable usually thanks to him. Yeah I thought Get Out wasn't as original as some of the lovers claim it to be. I had to think of Stepford Wives and it probably borrowed from Skeleton Key as as well. I read there also were references to Rosemary's Baby even though I didn't see it as such however yeat the manipulation/brainwashing was there. I really disliked Mother too, pretentious and hipster. I always thought that about action movies Yes when imdb used to have boards the horror board was the one I frequented mostly, actually I rarely visited any of the other sections. For me it's movies only though I'm not a reader or TV show person. Guess 75% of my DVD/blu ray collection is horror. You have a favorite among the Bava movies? I really love Black Sunday a lot but also I Vampiri, Kill Baby Kill and Baron Blood. Surely there must be people with favorite directors? Ever since message boards were introduced people calling out on others who disagree with you is a common phenomenon. As silly as it sounds people can really get sensitive about someone criticizing their beloved movie/TV show/ music etc. It's really silly because why should a person feel insulted when you criticize something the person itself didn't create? People insult cos they can and they feel pretty safe as the other person is unlikely to harm them physically. Yeah that is interesting, create some tension and mystery. Still it's no guarantee for success. I like creepy atmosphere, love mixing it with fantasy and sci-fi. Not a fan of the action packed horror. Can appreciate a slasher but it's not my favorite also modern paranormal (pretty much everything after The Others). I prefer the paranormal ones where the ghosts are barely seen. That said I don't like found footage style. Love old zombie and monster movies and the old gore movies from Herschell Gordon Lewis because of their crazy concepts. Imdb didn't care if you were targeted by trolls or not. They were just too lazy to do something about it relying on automated moderatorship getting fully on topic threads removed because trolls were abusing the report button. Pan's Labyrinth is a Spanish movie from Del Toro, setting being the Spanish civil war 1940s I believe. The fantasy part is protagonist 11 year old Ofelia fleeing into a fantasy world with a faun (Pan) giving her task so she can enter the fantasy world as princess. The Company of Wolves is an eighties film surreal, symbolic, fantasy and horror and of as main theme the fairy tale of Red Riding Hood and the wolf. Usually symbolism and surreal isn't my thing but it's one of my favorite fairy tales. If you like the combo fantasy and mythology I could recommend the miniseries The Voyage of the Unicorn. Cannon Movie Tales also has a nice rendition of 9 different fairy tales. Great now all we need is less trolling, less Trump topics and some more movie related topics... I avoid any Trump related discussions. I mean what is actually interesting about what he says or does? He gets enough attention already. I have been discussing with you bout horror for a a good while on the old imdb. I don't remember you being a troublemaker. I think you only got provocative when some troll kept repeatinh himself. Criticizing them was completely understandable. Dunno why people make so much fuss about porn. To protect the underage I guess. But why not the same satndard for violence? Does watching porn turn someone quicker in a psycho than watching violence don't think so. I have the feeling that if there would be less restrictions there would be less boredom and less trolling. I do own Stardust, love it, it's funny but not exaggerated. It has enough fantasy and very light horror elements to keep me interested from start to end. Others I do love are Wizard and Return to Oz, The Golden Compass, the first Narnia movie, the Company of Wolves, Pan's Labyrinth. Lord of the Rings was nice for a 1 time view, they are too long to go through again and I'm not that interested in these many and long battle scenes. They are ok for videogames but in movies they get boring for me. We all die at some day so wether we wasted that life or not does it really matter in the end? I guess mentioning Trump is already at risk of violating many rules lol. I guess people get tired of having to wait for days until someone replies. So many (too many perhaps) sections and not enough active members who seem to be willing to check them all out. People still too much spread out over different places. Imdb2, tmdb and smaller sites aimed at a certain interest also facebook groups. It needs to be simplified, most users don't feel like looking up how to use the code. If other boards can do that MC surely can do so too.
