Mason Kane

There are lots of nods to spy movies in this series like James Bond, Jason Bourne and Mission Impossible. Richard Madden's character is called Mason Kane. Is that name also a nod to two classic action movies?
The British spy played by Sean Connery in The Rock is called John Mason. One of the aliases used by Jason Bourne is John Michael Kane. He used that identity when he bought the yacht for the dictator Wombosi in the first film. Coincidence???
