Cheryl is infuriating

I'm just watching season 2 and Kristen's mom is the worst. I understand her determination to do the exact thing to put her family in danger is a necessary plot device but DAMN!? After Leland explicitly tells her his true motives while calling off the wedding you'd think she'd steer clear.
