Episode 2.6 ( SPOILER)

I'm binging season 2 but I'm not really impressed. Like this episode. Why wouldn't she get rid of the murder weapon, it's stupid. Then why does her cop friend go through with questioning the daughter and such if she doesn't give a damn if she killed him?
