Vapid, ultra woke, kinda fun

When the focus is Josh, it's a fun show but when it switches focus to anyone else it becomes vapid and ultra woke. Angelica is mildly interesting and very off-putting yet the actress is enthusiastic, talented, and sells the character. I didn't like how she went from obnoxious to lovable in one episode, hate it when tv shows do that. The cliques are vapid and nonsensical caricatures of pop culture. All other individual characters are basically caricatures of characters from better movies. It feels like a script written by a HS kid for other HS kids. It's strength is keeping the story simple, it's a love story with side plots of revenge and acceptance. The trailer gives a good sense of what the show is about so if you hate the trailer you'll probably hate the show.

That's a pretty good write up. It did have that "let's send out some woke messages at the expense of a decent story" feel to it. I'm all for equality and a progressive future, but not at the expense of good writing.
