It Wasn't Hype, After All

It wasn't "hype," it was well-deserved praise. I'm a 72-year-old white guy who has dabbled in theater professionally and otherwise for over 50 years. This show IS all that.

I know that many people don't get or don't like the idea of the story of our country's origin, which was successful in part due to the participation of slaves and immigrants who were then denied many of its freedoms, being told by people of color and immigrants. They could probably get it if they tried just a little; but even if they don't want to do that, maybe they could think of it as a work of fiction (since it has some historical inaccuracies) and try to appreciate the music and performances. They are awesome.
