Spoilers.....What's the historic timeline here?

It threw me for a loop when they first mentioned that the Netherlands were petitioning for political autonomy from the Reich, and later on the British police are using German machine guns and helmets.

Anyone know the historic timeline of the series?

reply

It appears to be set sometime in the 60's... it is also an alternate universe so don't go looking for historical accuracy. You'll realize that pretty quick when the UK government starts executing people by hanging them and then slicing open the person being hung so that all the guts spill out and there is no doubt that they are dead.

Yeah, not looking for accuracy, was just curious if there was anything explaining it. Not only the executions, but that they were televised....

No explanation is ever given in the show. It isn't a bad show all in all, but some of it seems to be aimed at a comic book fan that knows a lot more of the background than the casual viewer. It almost seems as if they were somehow trying to get a Game of Thrones type backstory in the series... unfortunately the story is really too thin for that too work well so you are left a little confused sometimes.

Seems to be set more in the 60's as had references to 'man about to go to the moon' and Cliff Richard leaving the group The Shadows which was late 60s
The club scene was very 60's but the music covered many decades.
They have however blimps in the sky, public hangings an executions and links to Jack the Ripper so its an amalgamated timeline, similar to Gotham i guess which that old-fashioned feel but also had futuristic elements too.
