Surprised at the bad reviews

I thought this was a clever and well-done take on Chambers' stories; certainly one that shows care and respect for the source material, as opposed to treating it with utter contempt even as you strip-mine it for cool-sounding names (why, yes Mr. Pizzolatto, I am looking squarely in your direction).
