Cave paintings

i love the part where he's watching a family from 30000 years ago in their home, a cave, in France, and he says he's been watching the girl. She has 5 kids eventually. And they're making some cave paintings. He also says he knows that they are us - homo sapiens sapiens.
They also stay in that cave for multiple generations for 5000 years and nothing changes. nothing needed to. they keep doing the same paintings.

Wild to think how much things change today, from years to year, month, day minute. WHY?
Do we need it? Might have been better to stay in those caves.

But the agricultural revolution changed all that 10000 years ago. Civilization as we call it now. All due to planting a few seeds.

I wonder, though, if nothing changed in those 5000 years.

Were there no floods, heatwaves, forest fires?

Overpopulation of one species; extinction of another species?

Maybe things did change but as they had no means of recording it, it only lived on as vague folk memory?

reply

Well he knows nothing changed in those 5000 years because he fast forwarded through them using the machine.
