Marie's passport?

I think it was in episodes 5 or 6. When Alain and Marie are having their passports looked at, the agent says something to Marie and hands her back her passport. She looks at her picture and info page within it and has a surprised and dismayed look on her face. I thought that the man had declined her passport, because something was amiss. I suspected it had become apparent it had been tampered with, and the visa was missing. Because if I understood it right, it was her passport visa that had been used to doctor up Domoniques makeshift passport. But then they still ended up getting on the plane. So I'm a tad confused, what exactly happened there? Can someone please explain?

It was Stephane’s visa from her passport that Nadine used for Dominique’s passport, not Marie-Andre’s. Don’t forget that Marie-Andre is French-Canadian, not French. Her passport and visa are Canadian, issued by Canada, not France. Dominique needed a visa from a French passport.

The scene you’re referring to is actually a flashback to the first time Marie-Andre traveled on someone else’s doctored passport. She was shocked when the customs officer called her by someone else’s name.
