I’m glad this got made

Richard Linklater is incapable of making a bad film. This one isn’t his best, but it’s as personal and inventive as you’d expect from Link, plus it’s refreshingly woke-free. Well done to Netflix for funding this.

It’s basically a skip through childhood in the late 60’s, blended with the kid’s fantasy of being an astronaut, done in Linklater’s beloved rotoscoped animated style. Every frame is gorgeous and it bobs along at a nice pace, covered in Jack Black’s narration.
