This Could Have Been So Good

Good idea: 2 very attractive people who are drawn naturally (literally) to each other, but do not share a verbal means of communication (“verbal” means both spoken and written language). Not surprisingly, they find other ways to communicate, and that’s brilliant and engrossing. What is neither is the painful rhymes on the soundtrack playing over the visual narrative. This shit is doggerel. It tries. It fails. There is a credit for “Poetry by [someone],” but ‘it’s not poetry. It’s plodding rhyme that congratulates itself for rhyming and not for having music, because it does NOT have music. This is a Hallmark greeting card.

Elarica Johnson is a VISION. This is, at best, a Lifetime or Hallmark DTV disappointment. Quelle domage.
