No escape pods or shuttle?

I would not generally expect that a ship like this wouldn't have some kind of "lifeboat" ability -- pods people could get into with enough fuel to jettison them onto a course back into the solar system where they could get rescued.

I'd kind of also expect some kind of shuttle(s) on the ship capable of even more comprehensive inner solar system travel. And something like that would seem possible to jury rig into at least a thruster capable of altering their travel vector back into the solar system and into some kind of planetary braking maneuver.
