PLOT HOLE OR NOT??

When Adam hits Rocco on the bike he was being followed by a black SUV. The SUV turns around and leaves. I assume they were gang members who didn't want to get involved. But after Kofi is charged and convicted I am sure word would have gotten out that the driver was a white kid and they would have known the make of the car and possibly a plate number. But the female gang leader is clueless as to who killed Rocco. Or did she know and let Kofi take the fall. If so, why?

The black SUV is never mentioned again. Plot hole extraordinaire my friends?

They knew it wasn't Kofi from the start. Charlie spoke with the crooked cop to handle the situation. The detective spoke with Little Mo and he set up the carjacking. Kofi was the fall guy to cover up a scandal.

She doesn't know who killed Rocco because it doesn't matter to them. All that matters is that nobody finds out their connection to the crooked cops and the future Mayor. Kofi takes the fall and then it's business as usual for them.

Its so stupid of course
also the fact that his mother in law knew they didn't visit the cemetery in the anniversary was never used !!

i found it frustrating that the black suv was never mentioned again. i don't get it.

I found that to be frustrating as hell!!! Even Adam fails to ever mention it to his father! Like what’s up with that??? Can someone please explain.

Probably the writers wanted to make the scene seem more menacing by introducing that SUV, but didn't really have any plan for it and had enough other things going on already and so dropped it.
