Cameo and The Shining (1980)

I know that Stephen King doesn't like Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of his book, The Shining, but I dunno if he himself wrote the famous "Here's Johnny!" line from the climax, or if he particularly likes it, even. However, I found it amusing that both should appear in this movie! King is particularly memorable as the bicycle repairman who sells Bill the Silver bicycle. Anyway, both were appreciated in this, and King did like this adaptation, like the first chapter.

Stephen King spent decades insulting Kubrick’s film.

Now, in 2019, we get a reference to “The Shining” in “IT Chapter 2” AND a full-blown sequel with Mike Flanagan’s “Doctor Sleep”.

Moral of the story: King doesn’t have a clue about movies.

When I saw IT Chapter 2, there was a trailer for Doctor Sleep presented by Stephen King and someone else! Talk about an about-face!
