late 80's - early 90's

I used to work in a K-Mart in the late 80's/early 90's. There was a good size Indian population in the area and whenever the feminine hygiene products went on sale they would come in and clean out the shelves. We could never understand why. I can only assume, based on this movie, that it was probably cheaper to buy them on sale here and ship them back to India to family members, than having to buy them in India.
