Rather dull and repetitive

This is the first movie I've ever seen about this battle I've never heard described before, but it was only barely OK, and there wasn't much emphasis on the severely damaged Japanese carriers (except for the one that exploded totally because of the burning bombs) and it felt rather lackluster. If anything, there was too much emphasis on the anti-aircraft fire crews, their guns, and the dogfights. These were shown over and over again, and it got repetitive rather fast. Typical Emmerich fodder, meaning he should be kept away from historical movies like Bay also should be.
